Lake Constance airline InterSky has put a further aircraft into service and extended its network. The new Friedrichshafen - Düsseldorf route is now open for booking.
The airline has increased its engagement in the German market. From 10 May 2010, InterSky passengers will have the choice of two daily nonstop flights between Friedrichshafen and Düsseldorf.
InterSky, the largest family-owned Austrian airline, is set to expand by a further 10 per cent before the end of the year, going for growth in these strategically and economically important markets. The further expansion of routes from Friedrichshafen to North Rhine-Westphalia consolidates InterSky’s position as market leader in this region. In addition to current flights from Friedrichshafen to Cologne/Bonn (four a day) and Friedrichshafen-Münster/Osnabrück (once a day), the airline will operate a twice-daily service to Düsseldorf from May. This brings connections between Lake Constance and North Rhine-Westphalia to a total of up to seven a day. “Attractive flight times at either end of the day and more nonstop flights are to strengthen our business traveller segment," Claus Bernatzik, Managing Director of InterSky, stresses.
"The new route underlines and increases the attractiveness and quality of Friedrichshafen as a venue. We therefore welcome the decision of InterSky to add this flight from Friedrichshafen at either end of the day to their schedule," Hans Weiss, Managing Director of Bodensee Airport Friedrichshafen, says. But the new service will also benefit holidaymakers and Friedrichshafen airport. The new route, for instance, adds numerous new transfer options from Düsseldorf via InterSky’s hub in Friedrichshafen to such other destinations as Graz, Elba, Zadar and Nice. By extending its route and generating additional transfer traffic, InterSky effectively improves the infrastructure of Friedrichshafen Airport and the sustainable value added of the region around Lake Constance.
